WION Fineprint: Donald Trump to announce 2024 White House bid soon? | Latest English News

Donald Trump has hinted at a rally that his decision to announce another run for the White House can wait until after this year’s midterm polls, but a growing number of Republicans are openly cheering for a competitive primary field in 2024.

One name that united the republicans
before the 2016 presidential race has
left them divided before the 2024 battle
the name is donald trump
trump says he has already made a
decision on the 2024 race he has been
teasing about it during teasing it
during his campaign style rallies
the only question left is when would he
make the announcement
donald trump has hinted at a rally that
his decision to announce another run for
the white house can wait until after
this year’s crucial midterm polls
but a growing number of republicans are
openly cheering for a competitive
primary field in 2024. they are
encouraging candidates to jump into the
race
this is because some in the gop are
getting increasingly anxious about the
idea of donald trump becoming their
presidential nominee again
and there are several reasons for the
gop leaders to be jittery
donald trump has been impeached twice he
lost the 2020 election and is entangled
in investigations by the federal
prosecutors he faces a probe over the
capitol hill insurrection over
mishandling of classified white house
documents over election interference and
several financial frauds
more and more republicans do not think
that trump would be the automatic front
runner if he decides to launch a third
white house bid
the hesitancy towards trump being the
nominee is quite clear
some like dusty johnson a south dakota
republican feeling that it would be
healthy for the gop to have a debate
about who should be their next standard
bearer
donald trump though has not lost all
support he still maintains a stronger
hold among the republicans than any
other would-be challenger
on sunday young conservatives
overwhelmingly chose trump over the
florida governor ron desantis in a straw
poll at a summit in the sunshine state
asked who they would vote for if the
former president launched a re-election
bid
78.7 percent of the attendees at the
turning point usa gathering
chose trump while 19 percent picked the
centers
but there are growing fears in the party
about trump’s potential legal wars and
the political battle and political
baggage
senator mitt romney of utah a leading
anti-trump voice in the gop says he has
hurt the party and continues to do so
but still many republicans even those
who are apprehensive about another trump
bid are signaling that they would fall
in line if he ultimately throws his hat
into the ring
the house select committee probing the
january 6 insurrection has publicly
revealed damaging details about donald
trump’s role
so in an attempt to both freeze the
field and shift the narrative the former
president could even weigh an early
white house bid possibly even before the
midterms
and despite the threat of trump running
again a number of republicans are
exploring potential presidential bids
and are meeting with donors some of them
have not ruled out directly challenging
trump for the nomination
so will the gop dump trump for the 2024
presidential race remains to be seen
